It’s fun to watch the two of them when they are making good use of the food bowls.

I love how they line up in unison, “copy-catting” each other.

Nothing interrupts their concentration.

Or, is that always the case?

Patches has to see what I’m doing standing in back of them. Rusty always concentrates – no matter what is going on around him. Right now, his world is the bowl, and nothing else matters!!

The Great Divide

At opposite ends.  Romeo and Patches seem to have reached an agreement on the couch.

Flat Face Rusty

Rusty belongs to the breed known as “Exotic Shorthair.”  It’s an official CFA (Cat Fanciers Association) name for this breed of cats that originated from the Persians by way of a genetic mutation many, many years ago.

One of the distinguishing features of these cats is their broad, flat face and small ears.  This is the first time I was able to capture Rusty’s phenomenal facial side view.

I Love When Rusty Poses

I walked into the patio a few days ago, and there was Rusty staring right at me!  I love when he has his paws turned down like that.  I quickly turned around and went for my camera, praying that he would be in the same position when I returned.

He was!  The photos below are the result before he decided to jump down.

Patches Loves To Sunbathe

The patio is very sunny, since it faces south.  Patches is the only one of the three who likes to sunbathe, and the patio is perfect.

She’s feeling good right now, “soaking up” those UV rays through the tinted windows.

An Unusual Pet Family

Today’s post is not about my three cats.  It’s about a young Brazilian man who has accumulated his pet family which consists of one golden retriever, one hamster and eight birds.  The absolutely star of the photos is the dog.  Typical golden retriever:  loving, patient, and happy.

The “Overhang”

Romeo loves to assume a position that I have never seen another cat assume.  He loves to have his head overhang the edge of anything;  counter, bed, chair – even the top of the shower wall.

This position appears to be uncomfortable to me, but, we cannot imagine all that goes on in the minds of our cats.  Sometimes, we believe we know, but we’re only fooling ourselves.

Romeo Knows How To Relax

How could I forget about Romeo when it comes to having a conversation about relaxation?  He’s one of the most experienced on that subject.

“Mr. Handsome” is no slouch in the relaxation department.  A more frequent favorite place is on Mom’s bed in the afternoon.

Relaxation Personified: Patches

Cats instinctively know how to relax after a hard day of having fun, eating and exercising.  Patches is no exception!

One of her favorite places is on a couch wherever it is.  This time it’s in the living room. She knows where the best places are!  And she loves to have a pillow nearby to lean on.

Ah, yes, Patches.  You are special.
