I was brought to tears, watching this old circus lion frolicking in his first taste of freedom from his cage. He is ecstatic. It’s the first time he has experienced grass and other objects on the ground. He enjoyed this new life in the sanctuary for five years before he died of old age.

The Wild Animal Sanctuary, the world’s largest carnivore sanctuary is a 720 acre site outside Denver and houses over 400 lions, tigers, bears and wolves. Seeing all these magnificent cats have a wild open space is just beyond heartwarming. Glad this boy was able to experience some peace in his final years.
