The “Overhang”

Romeo loves to assume a position that I have never seen another cat assume.  He loves to have his head overhang the edge of anything;  counter, bed, chair – even the top of the shower wall.

This position appears to be uncomfortable to me, but, we cannot imagine all that goes on in the minds of our cats.  Sometimes, we believe we know, but we’re only fooling ourselves.

Patches’ “Teddy Bear”

A rare occurrence:  viewing Patches as she sleeps with a favorite toy.  She was playing with it – tossing it and pushing it.  All of a sudden, she flopped down and went to sleep, still clutching the toy.

A Funny Photo

I love animals.  They are the source of many wonderful experiences.

As of late, Patches, Rusty and Romeo have been uncooperative in the photography department.  Things are kind of “status quo.”

So, I found a photo I am happy to share with you.  I hope you get a “kick” out of it, as I did.

Were You Thinking Of Having Rice For Dinner?

This photo caught my fancy.  I laughed when I saw this mess.

The cats look so innocent.

Moving Something Old To A New Place, Makes It New Again

There were two cat furniture pieces in my family room until last week.  They were standing side by side in front of sliding glass doors to the patio (one of two entrances into the patio).

As of late, they weren’t getting much traffic at all, so I decided to separate them.  I hope the one left standing isn’t feeling too lonely – after all, they’ve been together for many years!

My patio is getting crowded with cat toys, scratching posts, raised platforms and nice, comfortable, cushy chairs and ottomans.  Oh yes – also two big, sturdy boxes that seem to be Romeo’s private caves (There’s A New Box In Town) although Patches trespasses sometimes.  Right about now you must be thinking, “Why is Carol filling up her patio with all this ‘stuff’?”

This is not only my home – it is also Patches’, Rusty’s and Romeo’s home.

So, what happened to the cat furniture?  It has found a new home:  on the patio.  And, Romeo has laid major claim to it.

Even though Romeo is a little big for the “penthouse,”  he manages to fit in – somewhat.  There’s always part of him hanging out:

Patches was not to be outdone.  She found the penthouse to her liking as well:

And so, you might be asking, “Where is Rusty in all this?”  He hasn’t shown any interest in this newly-moved furniture.  He, as always, does his “own thing.”  He’s probably back on Mom’s bed.

Nap time - notice the right paw over left. He always has right over left.

Yup!  There he is!!!

An Unlikely Couple

I happened to walk into my office the other day, and I couldn’t believe what I saw.

Patches has been surprising me lately with her actions – kind of out of character, you might say.

The photo below is the latest surprise.  She joined Romeo on the couch on top of the towels and got real close.  They are becoming friends!  It took only 9 years!!

A Happy Video

Hi Everyone!  Besides loving my wonderful, beautiful three pussycats, I also love all animals.  I came across a video that I fell in love with, and have to share it.  There’s something special about baby animals, and these brought a big, wide smile to my face, and happiness and delight are among the emotions l experienced while watching this video.  I’m sure you will feel the same way:

Grooming Time

Many times, during the morning grooming ritual, I’ve thought, “How can I photograph a grooming session?”  Well, I finally decided to do it, and whatever happens, happens.

What follows is the result; however, Rusty is missing.  He got a little skittish when I took the camera out of my pocket – it wasn’t part of the ritual and he wanted no part of it:

Patches didn't care about the camera. She enjoyed the grooming experience anyway. Her favorite part is the brushing of her head.
